Practice
Amelie Andre, MArch, MRes
I have worked in architecture and urban planning for ten years, participating in various projects that range from urban strategy to the tendering phase of large public buildings. My responsibilities included project design, task organisation, team coordination, project logistics, budget supervision, creative problem-solving, and time management to meet deadlines. I am passionate about finding pragmatic and innovative solutions in projects.
I obtained my Master of Architecture (MArch) in 2008 from the Architecture School of Nantes and completed my professional practice course (RIBA III equivalent) in 2012 at the Architecture School of Lille. Throughout my career, I have thrived by balancing practical experience with theoretical knowledge, enjoying the interplay between the two. While working as an architect, I pursued a Master's in Research in Urban Planning from the Architecture School of Paris La Villette between 2014 and 2016. This experience enabled me to undertake a PhD with industry experience starting in 2017 at the University of Hertfordshire, which I completed in 2023.
In addition to my role at MCA, I am a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire, where I primarily supervise Master's students in the fields of Sustainable Planning, Environmental Management, and International Relations as they prepare their final dissertations.
In my free time, I try to keep up with my child's energy and enjoy spending time outdoors. I also love reading books with a cup of tea when I can!
