Practice

Amelie Andre, MArch, MRes

I worked in architecture and urban planning practices for ten years, taking part in various missions ranging from urban strategy to the tendering phase of large public buildings. My responsibilities entailed project design, task organisation, team coordination, project logistics, budget supervision, creative thinking, and time management to meet deadlines. Finding pragmatic and innovative solutions in projects are aspects I am passionate about.

I obtained my MArch in 2008 from the Architecture School of Nantes and my professional practice course in 2012 from the Architecture School of Lille. During my career, I thrived by balancing practice and theory and enjoyed how they influence each other. While working as an architect in Brussels, I pursued a Master of Research in urban planning between 2014 and 2016 at the Architecture School of Paris La Villette, which enabled me to pursue a PhD with industry experience from 2017 at the University of Hertfordshire that I recently submitted in 2023.

During my weekends, I try to match my child’s energy and spend most of my time out and about. I also enjoy reading books with a cup of tea.
