Practice
Antonia Gampell, BSc(Hons)
I graduated from the University of Bath with a BSc (Hons) in Architecture in 2023, including a placement at Inskip Gee Architects, a conservation practice. Following this, I worked at DLA Architecture in Leeds, where I contributed to a range of large-scale projects across the city. I particularly enjoyed working on retrofit projects, including the reconfiguration and fabric upgrade of a high-profile existing sports venue.
My final project at the University of Bath proposed a public brewery as a contemporary intervention within Bartlemas, the smallest conservation area in Oxford. My studies explored how sensitive architectural interventions can carefully support and extend the life of historic fabric, settings, and stories.
In practice, I am interested each projects' unique existing context and I view constraints as an opportunity for carefully integrated, intelligent design. I enjoy working with sustainable, tactile materials and design processes, and I am interested in how buildings are reused and can continue to adapt over time. These are ideas I look forward to developing further both in practice and when I continue my Master’s at the RCA in September 2026.
Outside of the office, I enjoy all things live music: gigs, events, and festivals. I’m especially drawn to the social and spatial qualities of music venues, and the role they play in bringing people together.
