Heather Johnson, BSc(Hons), Dip Arch, PG Dip
I have extensive experience having worked within the architectural design industry since the age of 16 and have gained a wide skillset working in several practices across the country on projects ranging from small extensions to Olympic sports venues. I am a fully qualified architect as well as a Certified Passivhaus Designer with several certified projects to my name, including a finalist in the Passivhaus Trust Awards and the first certified retrofit Passivhaus Plus project in the UK. I was also privileged to be named one of the RIBA Journal’s Rising Stars of 2024 in recognition of my work in the Passivhaus and sustainable architecture field.
I completed my Part 1 undergraduate studies at the University of Bath followed by my Part 2 at the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales, the only sustainability-led architecture course in the UK where may passion for retrofit and reuse, hands-on building, on-site problem solving and sustainable design further developed. I passed my Part 3 at Kingston University to become a fully Chartered Architect in 2021 having become a Certified Passivhaus Designer in 2018.
Outside of work you’ll find me working on my own retrofit barn conversion project with my husband, out in the Welsh mountains with my daughter and dog, sliding down snowy slopes on skis or a snowboard or trying to find time to reinstate my fitness regimen!
